Come Seek The Truth: Unraveling Myths About HIV

There are many myths about HIV out there which can be incorrect and mislead the public into believing something which isn’t true. In this section, we will analyze and answer some of the myths people have about HIV. Myths dispelled include if herbal medicine can cure HIV, is it only certain types of people who get HIV, can being diagnosed with HIV be a death sentence, and does being HIV-positive mean never having children.
National Gay Men's HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is approaching!
On September 27th, 2008 the National Association of People with AIDS launched this observance day to recognize the disproportionate impact of the epidemic on gay men. The Center for HIV Prevention is hosting a parade and health fair in Atlanta's very own Piedmont Park! There will be a variety of vendors and free HIV testing with same day results. This event is 100% free, open to the public, and most importantly food will be provided! We hope that you will join us for a day of fun and support!
How to Reduce Your Risk of Getting HIV

There are various ways a person can reduce their risk of acquiring HIV. Those ways can include having protected sex, using condoms correctly, limiting the number of sex partners, and considering the use of PrEP. Most importantly, get tested for HIV and STDs frequently.
